Is there a better breakfast comfort food than biscuits and gravy? I'd be hard pressed to think of one. This is one of our go-to breakfasts on weekends, as it takes a bit longer to make, but the technique is simple and the goodness well worth it.
Gravy can be made ahead of time because it warms up well. Biscuits are really best fresh from the oven. My favorite recipe is Old -Fashioned Lard Biscuits from Baker Bettie, but biscuits in a can work pretty well, too.
This breakfast hits the spot on cold mornings when you have a busy day ahead, whether it's full of farm chores, sports, or hiking.
